If the last century was all about 3S: “Scale – Size – Standardization”, this century will be all about the 3 I’s – “Inspiration – Imagination – Innovation”. The shift from 3S to 3I is a paradigm shift and the academia the world over is yet to comprehend the significance fully, thus creating a large skill gap.

We at SKILLSertifika understood this gap and we endeavour to fill it by introducing the diploma course of “Certified Innovation Professional”. Innovation is just not innovating a product, its entails a change in the way the product is delivered and how the organization is designed to handle it. The course covers 4 stages as follows, in the same order:

1. Innovative Thinking Aptitude Test (iTAT) – This 100-mark rigorous MCQ test gauges a person’s ability to innovate – HOW ORIGINAL innovative thinker he/she is? Innovation requires FLIP-THE-BOX, NON-LINEAR thinking in today’s environment and unless a person is capable of such thinking – innovation becomes impossible. The test will identify a group of persons in your company, CAPABLE OF SUCH TYPE OF RADICAL INNOVATION. A score of 60+ will indicate a good degree of capability and a score of 75+ will indicate a high degree of capability and a score of 90+ will indicate a radical and disruptive thinker. On the other hand, failure (40<) will indicate a person who is a doer and can execute, BUT INCAPABLE OF RADICAL THINKING and a 40-59 score range will indicate inadequate capabilities – how ever can be improved.

2. Complex Innovation Case Solving (CICS) – A series of 10 complex business cases from the pages of The Harvard Business Review, representing a major innovation issue – with expert opinion provided. After solving the case the candidate can compare his/her opinion with expert opinion. This is not a test – strategy has no fixed answers. The cases can be purchased and downloaded – however expert opinion will be available online only.

3. Three courses in Innovation at three levels – –

  • a) Design Thinking & Innovation (DTI) – Product/service level innovation
  • b) Business Model Innovation (BMI) – Business and Strategic Level innovation
  • c) Organizational Practices Innovation (OPI) – Organizational culture and practices THAT KILL INNOVATION – Organizational level innovation.

2. Scholastic Capability Test (SCT) – A 100 marks MCQ test on above three courses. should be attempted only after a person has gone through the material in three above courses. The candidate must score 60 and above in the test, a score of below 60 WILL INDICATE INADEQUATE STUDY. It is then recommended that the person reads the material again and attempts the test again.

A candidate has to score 60% average in the two tests (iTAT & SCT) to get the certificate. That is if he/she scores 40 in iTAT (Innovative Thinking Ability Test), he/she has to score 80% in SCT (Scholastic Capability Test)
